About Our Founder

Luz obtained her Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing and Fashion Merchandising at Florida International University. While still in college, Luz founded and was President of a company, Impel America, Inc. It is an import and export company with over 25 years of prosperity in Miami, FL.
During the 1980’s, Luz had a successful career selling computers for IBM to the legal, banking, and communication industries in Miami, FL and Atlanta, GA. In 1990, Luz saw the changes taking place in the global economy and decided to work for several multinational companies where her bilingual skills could be put to use. She did extensive conference interpreting in Mexico. Luz taught Spanish and English to adults and children in Atlanta where she specialized in teaching accent reduction.
In 1999, Luz began working as an interpreter and translator and began her membership with the American Translators Association. She was a Berlitz® trainer and is certified with the Bridging the Gap curriculum for medical interpreters. After refining her skills she became certified by passing the Certification Exam approved by the Consortium for State Court Interpreters.
Luz is comfortable in the legal, medical, and business professions. She has worked extensively in all aspects of trials, worker’s compensation, political asylum cases, depositions, mediation, hearings and medical appointments. Luz is also a member in good standing of NAJIT - the National Association of Judiciary Interpreters & Translators.
Luz's husband Rich Grady runs the administrative side of the business. For over 30 years he has served as Managing Director, General Manager of a number of successful businesses for many of the top corporate companies in America.
Luz and her husband Rich are the proud parents of three wonderful sons; Ian, a pre law senior at UGA; Brian, a junior at USC film school in LA and Julian a precocious sixth grader.
